Only when it's reported, and that usually happens pretty quickly with  
OSS. However, security holes have been exploited in the past, due to  
combinations of slow responses, poor security practices by users and  
failing to keep up with the latest security patches. Firefox is as  
secure as any browser you will find, but it can't protect users from  
their own bad choices.
