Try turning off compiz (System|Pref...|Appearance|Visual...|Extra) and
see if you still get the lockup using the same screensaver.

You might want to add your pastebin logs to that one.

[Ubuntu 10.04 random freezes]

I notice in the pastebin kernel log that just before the lockup you get:

ata1: lost interrupt (Status 0x58)
ata1: drained 32768 bytes to clear DRQ.

So maybe:
