Wireless net book won't work

You should have a fan shaped icon in the notification area (top right).
Just clicking on it should show available Wireless Networks. 

If necessary, right click on it, make sure Enable
Networking/Wireless/Notifications are checked.  Set up connections with
Edit Connections... 

You may also need to ensure networking is enabled at the hardware level.
My EEEPC has a Function Key to switch it on and off.  Some laptops need
it enabling in the BIOS setup.

Give all this a try and come back if it doesn't work.
