* You have the virtual terminals (vt1-6);
* you can also run byobu, and have multiple sessions opened against one
terminal -- with the added benefit that these sessions will survive a
dissconnect
* you can use SSH to reach the server -- and open as many SSH sessions
as you want. Of course, if the SSH connection is lost, you lose your
sessions (unless using byobu, or screen).
