As I see it, blkid -p will only give an access denied error if run as an
unprivileged user (no access to the raw device).
OTOH, when run as privileged user, without -p, blkid should verify if
the cached information is still correct.
So, in my understanding, -p isn't useful for an unprivileged user and a
privileged one doesn't need it.
The only difference I can spot is, that blkid -p (as root) doesn't
*write* to the cache either.
