I had the same problem at my school so I used bootable CDs for years.  
Then I got tired of all the CDs and just made a dual boot lab for my 
students.  When the powers-that-be figured out I was doing something 
unusual, I claimed ignorance of breaking any rules....  The rest is, as 
they say, history as I've been running such a lab for decades now!
