It's very annoying not to know what caused this to suddenly happen after
it has been behaving faultlessly for years. Perhaps one of the addons or
the theme I am using (I don't use the default theme, it's too
plain)...dunno; and seeing as how I've now got it working, thanks to tip
to check Preferences>Attachments, I won't go chasing the reason.
