Resizing partition

As I'm running out of space on /home I am proposing to delete the adjacent
partition on the disk and extend the home partition into the available
space. Can I assume the following steps are enough, or am I missing
something?

1. Yes, I have a backup of /home
2. Remove the entry of the partition that is to be deleted from /etc/fstab
3. Boot the Gparted live disk
4. Delete the required partition
5. Resize the home partition
6. Reboot.

Is this OK, or are there UUID or other subtle complications?  Thanks.
