To whom this concerns:

I am a recent user of Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. I have recently switched desktop sessions to Kubuntu using the command:

sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

I love kubuntu, and wish to switch from Ubuntu to Kubuntu without loosing any files etc. With this said, I cannot find help over the internet regarding this matter. I tried:

sudo apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop

and did not get any changes. I would be very satisfied if there was an easy way to switch from ubuntu to kubuntu. Also when I installed kubuntu-desktop using the Synaptic Package Manager, I installed the kubuntu-desktop, kept the GDM option, restarted my computer and then switched to KDE session and logged into kubuntu. is there a way to get rid of the ubuntu and change log in screen, and system totally into kubuntu? Also I am a fairly new user of Linux, but I am however very proficient in the overall behavior of Linux.

Thank You,

A satisfied Linux user
