Grub disk: something automatic?

Actually, it looks like Grub2 starts numbering disks from 0, just like
Grub did. However, Grub2 seems to number partitions from 1 for some
reason. Therefore sda5 would be (0,5). Can someone else confirm that
this is the case with Grub2?
