Only that person who signed you ON to the list can sign you off.  If that 
wasn't you then you need to fix  your email account.  A message of 
confirmation HAD to be sent from your email address in order for you to have 
joined in the first place so you need to get after that person who is using 
your email account without your permission.  You have a much larger problem 
than just a few informative messages about Ubuntu!! Then too, Information to 
remove yourself is on the bottom of each and every message sent to this list 
including the message you posted.  All you have to do is click the link 
provided and follow the instructions on that page.  Way too simple huh?
