Flash "cannot find camera"

Hi all,

In Firefox under Karmic using the Adobe Flash plugin, when attempting
to view or change camera settings in Flash's "Settings" dialog I get
"cannot find camera".
Cheese Webcam Booth shows the camera's picture and can take pictures
from it. (Attempting to record video hangs Cheese, which may or may
not be relevant.
The camera is a Logitech Quickcam 4000, usb ID 046d:08b2, using "pwc" driver.
I have tried the workaround cited here:
