Ubuntu Hardware Compatibility List (for webcams)

Hi list,

I'd like to go shopping for a webcam, but I don't need it urgently, so I
have the luxury that I can check for hardware compatibility before I buy.

I googled a bit and found these sites:

(very useful, very easy to use!)

(kinda useful, not easy to search, loads of documentation)
