Hi,

I installed an Atheros AR5001X+ wifi card with madwifi on Ubuntu 9.04 I
configured by hand and the "iwconfig ath0" command give:

ath0      IEEE 802.11g  ESSID:"Borne-01"  Nickname:""
             Mode:Managed  Frequency:2.462 GHz  Access Point:
00:0F:66:C8:B0:A9
             Bit Rate:36 Mb/s   Tx-Power:13 dBm   Sensitivity=1/1
             Retry:off   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
             Encryption key:AD01-XXXX-XXXX-2593-BB5F-F142-33   Security
mode:open
             Power Management:off
             Link Quality=42/70 Signal level=-54 dBm Noise level=-96 dBm
             Rx invalid nwid:123944 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
             Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

But when I try to configure it with /etc/network/interface:

---------------------------------------------------------
iface ath0 inet static
<------>address 172.16.0.253
<------>netmask 255.255.255.224
<------>gateway 172.16.0.225
<------>wireless-key [1] "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
<------>wireless-essid "Borne-01"
<------>wireless-channel auto

auto ath0
---------------------------------------------------------

I got an error:

RTNETLINK answers: No such process
Don't seem to be have all the variables for ath0/inet.
Failed to bring up ath0.

What's wrong ?

Thanks for your help.

Sam.
