no sound on HP pavillion laptop model dv6

This is mine
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio
Controller (rev 03)

I added the following
options snd-hda-intel model=hp

in the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
but still no sound.
