no sound on HP pavillion laptop model dv6

I am having the same problem. I tried everything but not luck.
Also when I choose Sound Preferences then Hawrdware there is nothing in
there and on the output tab there is dummy output.
I have a HP Pavillion dv6523a.....
Any clue?
