Maybe its improved then since I last used it. But for me it would often 
cause emacs to just hangup completely. After I switched to sshfs I had 
no such issues. sshfs also offers a lot more, since the remove file 
system is mounted locally like any other, and as such is available to 
*any* application, whereas tramp is internal to emacs.
