OK guys lets find out what the problem is. We need to find
out what your computer is using for sound. You do this in a
Terminal. In the terminal type lspci and the line showing the
sound will look like mine:
01:05.1 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc RS780 Azalia controller
To learn more about the device, in my case I would go to
Google and put in "ATI Technologies RS780" and you will gt a
thousand web pages. Look for one that has Ubuntu mentioned.
Your problem may be explained there.
