I'm not sure I fully understand the question here, but from what I can
gather, you want some general advice for people that are seeking to use
linux, I assume, for the first time. Two lines is a bit low for quality
advice, but the best thing I can think of is this:
1. Consider very carefully your needs and requirements as a user
before you attempt to make the switch, then choose the option
that best fulfills those needs.
2. Don't work for your system, make your system work for you: Learn
how the new system works and take advantage of it's strengths.
