Even more interesting... Just checked on a base karmic install (64bit)
and (U)OOo 3.1 Tools|Options|Openoffic.org Calc|Formula doesn't even
exist. There is no 'Formula' option
Nor does it on a standard OOo 3.2.0.
Note: had to check the other machines since I have multiple OOo's
installed on this machine and have used for testing from 1.x.
I then checked on a lucid & it does out of the box. I then checked on a
32bit karmic (even removing ~/.openoffice.org) and it does exist there
as well.
So... on this machine I renamed my ~/.openoffice.org as well (karmic
32bit) and let it rebuild my (U)OOo profile just to see if the Formula
syntax setting appears in Tools|Options|Openoffic.org Calc|Formula, and
it's there. Of course Calc.xcu no longer appears in that
~/.openoffice.org folder - only in the installed folder:
$ locate Calc.xcu
/usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.1/share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Calc.xcu
So now I try Bas' spreadsheet again (on the new profile for (U)OOo 3.1
karmic, and I do indeed get the error. And: Tools|Options|Openoffic.org
Calc|Formula is now present, as is:
/home/gg2xp/.openoffice.org/3/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Calc.xcu
Very educational... thanks sktsee.
