Lucid has no g++

Karl,

G++ is not missing in lucid, the problem is that a previous run of
apt-get on your system barfed due to this bug:-

^^^ this line means "a previous operation failed", i.e. the install barfed.

^^ this wont fix it in this case as there was an error in the package
which you updated earlier today.

Lucid isn't ready yet.
