that would be my suggestion, too.  First I would add her as a user of
her own in Ubuntu, then set up VirtualBox in /her/ space on Ubuntu.
Make her jump through a couple of hoops.  Maybe she'll get to using
Ubu by itself and you'll have a new convert!
