Ubuntu Server 9.4 - mail is stored in ~/Maildir AND /var/mail/

Hello Team,

I am using Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I installed Kino video editor.
It starts well, but when I try to import a file, it says "unable to load
file"
On my other Debian system, it imports file with no issues.
I have installed all suggested and recomended packages also.

I started Kino with administrative previledges but gives same problem.
any solutions?
