Manao ahoana, Hello, Bonjour,
Given all the discussion about off-topicness on this list, I would
suggest one thing: An unofficial technical moderated mailing list.
That mailing list would be moderated, only tehcnical and for all level
(technical) discussions.
The goal is to teach the beginners too, but in all aspects including
teaching them how to ask smart questions.
A weekly reminder will kindly inform here the existence of the
moderated lists, so that newly subscribed users will know.
Already knowing ones will always be able to filter.
All legal, philosophic, "flamewary", ecologic,... oriented discussion
will be silently ignored and wont pass moderation.
Everyone may become moderator, the moderators mailing list will be
separated. The first moderator is me and I have no bias on whoever.
So, dont discuss much:
- You dont agree => just ignore this and let it be
- In any other case => you are kindly invited to visit:
- http://lists.rktmb.org/listinfo/ubuntu-moderated for users
- http://lists.rktmb.org/listinfo/mods for moderation process/policy
_and_ discussion about "ubuntu-moderated" existence.
PS: Moderation policy must be defined yet, but that does not avoid
beginning the process. And who knows, an explicit 2000 words moderation
policy and agreement might just be useless!
Misaotra, Thanks, Merci.
