using headless openoffice server to convert Japanese language documents

I know this is not a ubuntu specific question
but was hoping some one on this mailing list would be able to help me.

I am using an opensource web conferencing server called BigBlueButton
running on a 64-bit lucid server.
it uses an openoffice headless server to convert uploaded office files to PDF.

This is working great for english language documents, but when it converts
japanese language documents, it produces blank boxes.  according to the BBB
FAQ, this is due to the OpenOffice headless server is needs to be
running with the
necessary fonts.  unfortunately i don't know how to set this up...

can anyone point me in the right direction?
