I am not quite sure if I understand what you state simply because the
applet which gives you the logout, restart, shutdown options is totally
independent of the "chat account", the clock, and whatever. The
logout/restart/shutdown is a single icon occupying no more than a 5mm
space at the extreme right hand side of the top panel.
Are you trying to say that your icon for this is somehow radically
different?
How about you posting a screenshot of your naughty-type applet's
behaviour on http://picpaste.com/ so that we can see what you see so
that we can provide further comment?
Would also be of great help if you told us which version of Ubuntu you
are using and on which this applet is being naughty :-) .
