Jacob,
Several times you have been asked to quote properly and to bottom
post. Perhaps you think that these requests are just people spouting
off for no real reason but there are real and valid reasons for the
asking. One (possibly the greatest) reason is that these techniques
are the rules of the Ubuntu mailing lists as may be reviewed in the
quote which I have provided below:

From the page:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists

----------
Technical guidelines

Proper quoting:

Proper quoting is very important on mailing lists, to ensure that it is
easy to follow the conversation. There are four fundamental rules:

When replying to an email, ensure that the email which you are replying
to is indented with a symbol such as > or | (this is usually done from
the preferences of your email client - most should do this by default).

When quoting, attribute the quoted text to the person who wrote it
(again, most email clients will do this by default). Be careful to
attribute the correct text to the correct person.

Write your email underneath the email which you are replying to.
----------

Now that you have been reliably informed of the rules and have the
opportunity to go to the site and review the same rules for yourself,
won't you please follow those rules? It would make you look so much
more like a willing and cooperative member of the Ubuntu community
instead of /seeming to be/ such an obstinate jerk.
