Dinking with databases...

I used to use kaddressbook and have 1,700 some odd records in it saved
to a csv file. I have managed to import it into mysql as a table. So far
so, good. My last experience with a database, complete with nice input
pages for users, usable reports and queries was with Access. I FINALLY
managed to get openoffice database to recognize it, after installing
every connector I could find in synaptic. I feel like I have been
bludgeoned, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually after this
ordeal.

OO-databse just isn't "intuitive" to me. Is there something sweet and
easy to use that I'm not finding in the standard packages?? Knoda did
the job of importing the csv file into mysql, but I can't get my head
around it's "features". I'd like a front-end that can build from the
existing table the front-end page for users to use. Ideally
cross-platform. Thanks for all informed opinions! Ric

p/s hell yes, I googled. :)
