jigdo and zsync are useful for updating daily/nightly images:

metalink is used for torrents - open the file & you'll see.

Personally I use grsync. I set the download speed so that it doesn't
take up my entire bandwidth (I can browse, post here, etc) while
downloading. And I can easily start, pause, cancel, etc., all from a
nice gui interface).
