Once you have medibuntu configured, you will need libdvdcss2 installed,
especially for DVD's with encryption stuff. I am guessing you're problem
is with movie DVD's, correct? Others will chime in with other packages
you may wish to install. I installed from a DVD, and that gave me a wide
range of pre-installed packages. 

Synaptic is a great package manager, IMHO. Just type dvd in the search
bar and all DVD packaged will appear ...those you have installed and
those you have not. This really beats the heck out of Windows! If you
want it, you just get it! I hope you really come to enjoy Linux. Ric
