No misunderstanding... I was hoping that you actually do have a '96
series. I've looked through Robert's xorg-edgers-ppa and all of that
work seems to be for the '256 series/drivers and if you had managed to
get it to work for a '96 I would be inclined to give it a go on my test
machine.
