Hi Linda,
It dissapear because the configuration should be probed by the X when it starts
(my guess). You could start out with the one you already has on your backup.
Just put it on /etc/X11/xorg.conf and try out.
Regards,
marcelo

Subject: xorg.conf for a toshibia Satellite

I tried a 10.04 dist upgrade on a toshibia A55 Satellite and Xwindows
will not work. When started looking around it no longer has a xorg.conf
file and my usb backup of /etc seems to have disappeared. Does anyone
have an xorg.conf file I can use for a starting point?
Linda
