You know, you are close to being correct :-) .

One of the nice things about this mail list is that it is not controlled 
by anal-retentive people.

Sure, a heck of a lot of stuff gets thru here which would be considered 
"off topic" but nothing really gets out of hand.

OK, so there are some posts which carry on for a while about 
whatever....but it is all about interaction between humans...and friends 
really...people who got to 'know' each other thru posts in this mail 
list. Which is why this mail list is much more active than the other 
user list.

However, I wouldn't go so far as saying that the "list admin doesn't 
rightly give a damn" because there is more than one "admin" and, to me, 
they simply take a pragmatic and a non anal-retentive view of what goes 
on in this ML.

Having said this, the sky will now fall in on this thread and ML :-D .
