Just a lil update
Tried the suggestions given so far and they go me nowhere. Thanks for the
tries tho. I did notice something however which lead me to find what is
happening and a work around (very temp until it's fixed. It's actually a
known bug it seems in which the cups system is not starting on boot up.
Actually have to start it manually from the terminal with the command
sudo /etc/init.d/cups start
Apparently the prob occurs somewhere in upstart. Couldn't test on my sys cuz
the mobo blew since but my friends works this way for now. Bit of a pain but
it works
