Partman manual configuration?

         The Partman figures into your problem. I checked and:

karl at Lucid:~$ partman
The program 'partman' is currently not installed.  You can install it by 
typing:
sudo apt-get install ubiquity
karl at Lucid:~$

     So I learn your problems have nothing to do with a common version 
10.04.1 computer so you need to find someone using your version of 
Ubuntu :-)
