If you have grub2 on the hard disk, ie., there is another linux OS with
grub2 there, it can boot up the usb OS. just plug in in the usb and at
the hard disk OS, do a "sudo update-grub". It will detect the usb OS and
make an entry at the grub.cfg where you can then boot it up.
