init: problem

Hi, i just installed the newest version of ubuntu server. i ued is only once and just did some update. but now i can not figure out what happened. When i open it, it always say: 
init: network-interface (eth0) pre-start process (579) terminated with status 1
init: network-interface (eth0) post-stop process (601) terminated with status 1
init: network-interface (lo) pre-start process (598) terminated with status 1
init: network-interface (lo) post-stop process (605) terminated with status 1
 
and i can not input anything. does anyone knows what's wrong? thanks
