QBittorrent: Defunct process will not die

As subject says, last few hours I have noticed that QBittorrent will not
die after exiting out. It remains active and goes defunct on me. I try
to kill it with multiple commands

kill -1 PID
kill -2 PID
kill -9 PID

etc. etc. A reboot is the only solution. Any ideas or anyone else having
this issue with QBittorrent?
