Converting ext3 to ext4 resulting in loss of data?

Well, I thought it was a very EASY process and I have done that many
times before. But all those times I preserved /home as ext3.
But this time.... LOL.

Btw, anyone knows where photorec saves the restored files. I chose /,
but I don't see any new directories that indicates it belongs to
photorec.
