I see that you already have the answers from others, but I have the
Epson Perfection V300 scanner and what you need is the driver from Epson
itself. Comes as a two-part "driver" and you will find it here:
http://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/faq/id000837.php
The 2 parts are:
iscan_2.25.0-1.ltdl7_i386.deb
esci-interpreter-gt-f720_0.0.1-2_i386.deb
You need to install one before installing the other - but you will get
an error message if you pick on the wrong one :-) . (I don't remember
which is the first one to be installed.)
(Following your post I went to Avansys and found that there is a bug fix
which I just downloaded and will be installing in the next few minutes.)
