Memtest can somtimes have issues with ECC DIMM's because of course the 
correction, your only chance without proper diagnostic equipment is to 
start switching out DIMM's and see if it's a memory issue or if the 
actual board is going out, either can apply.  It's not likely that the 
OS is having issues but if both return false then of course you head 
towards the OS.
