lucid problem with nvidia twinview setup?

Hi All,

Maybe someone will know how to get my setup working with lucid.
it was working perfectly with karmic, and the lucid upgrade proceeded
normally until the kdm login screen. kdm does start, and X sort of
works because the login prompt appears, but after accepting my
password kdm fails to start the desktop and instead goes back to
the login screen in an endless loop asking for my password.

Hardware is a Dell Precision m6400 laptop in a docking station.
Laptop is closed and two 30" Dell displayport monitors, configured as
one logical desktop with nvidia-settings into a Twinview
configuration.

Taking a shot in the dark here, but this seems to be the portion
of the X.log that records the failure.
