hi,
my widescreen monitor is malfunctioning,
as a result I have to use an ancient 1024 x 768 monitor (Philips 150S)
I use Ubuntu 2.6.31-19-generic
unfortunately Ubuntu doesnt detect the monitor change and the monitor
cannot display anything.
and there is no safe graphics boot option for Ubuntu 2.6.31-19-generic
How can I boot with safe graphics?
I tried the 64 bit 9.10 install disk but it does not have any
update option, merely full install options. ie I can boot that with
safe graphics but it doesnt help with the existing install, it doesnt
even tell me which Linux is on which partition as I have about 8 Linuxes
installed on the machine.
if I use 2.6.31-19-generic (recovery mode) that functions but I am stuck
with text graphics, and no clue given as to how to get proper graphics.
thanks for any help
