DVD movie on 10.04 and Windows

Yesterday I did the things necessary to display a DVD movie on my
10.04 Ubuntu. It involved getting software from
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu which is odd but effective.
My laptop can now display ANY DVD movie from any area, the USA is area
0. I choose to display the movie with the VLC viewer because it has the
most complete set of controls.

I have Vista Windows on my laptop so I rebooted to that and
inserted the DVD movie and it came up automatic but it complained that
this movie was from another area. I was not at all sure what to do but
when I said to change the area it started to work right. I was able to
get it to view the start of the movie as desired.

So the DVD movie can be viewed on both Windows and Ubuntu 10.04 but
I think the controls over the movie are far better under 10.04 using the
VLC viewer.
