Can't log in with linux 2.6.32-21-generic kernel on Lucid

My guess would be that it's a video driver issue. However I can't find
any specs for an thinkpad R41e (even on the lenovo support site - they
only list R40).

- What graphics card & which drivers are you using?
- Are you aware of a bug that has already been filed on launchpad that
may match your issue? If so, can you provided the details?
