Really easy:

- open Gmail
- install Labs "Undo Send"
- create label and filter "ubuntu-users at lists.ubuntu.com"
- select the thread you want to post to
- read all the stuff thoroughly, it's a weird language
- press reply
- for better understanding, trim unneeded remarks (decreases bandwidth)
- do not overtrim (loses the meaning)
- place a [snip] where you trimmed
- press page down button repeatedly until the end of the message :-)
(Gmail's stardard bottom post)
- start replying
- be kind and gentle, the list is full of beginners, like me and a
couple of short tempered experts
- check "plain text' before posting
- check your text before posting
- pray
- press send
- press "undo send"
- read it again
- press send
- go and get a coffee

or

Use Empathy or Thunderbird and configure IMAP Gmail, bottom posting,
plain text, encryption, signatures and the like

or

Use http://news.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ubuntu.user

or

post directly at

https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/

And never hijack a thread like we did to this one...

Best regards.

L.
