10.04 BUG? Can not recognize USB DIsks

Nah, and like I said, it's not ALL USB storage devices either... I've
got three different brands of USB hard disk, and a handful of USB
sticks and none of mine have had any problems at all, however, I've
seen lots of comments elsewhere about devices not working, like your
USB stick and the OPs hard disk.  The worst kind of bug is the
intermittant one.
