Random logout

Mine uptodate Ubuntu 9.10 logout randmly. Issue is not with any
particular application, rather in general. It quickly logout while I
am using gedit, Firefox, Openoffice (most commonly used applications).
Rather not on one machine, I experience with two, one laptop and other
desktop.

Is there some issue with Ubuntu? are there others who faces similar
problem. problem is really irritating.
