Blackberry 8330 restarts when plugged into 10.4 via usb

I have a Blackberry 8330

BlackBerry 8330
smartphone (CDMA)
v4.3.0.127 (Platform 3.1.0.73)

which, when connected via usb to 10.4 [Alpha3, Beta1, Beta2] on [32 bit, 
64 bit, NBR].  The phone continously restarts.  The phone will loop the 
restart.  I have put the phone on 9.10, 9.04, and 8.04 with success; 
which is to say the phone recharges and I can activate mass storage 
device allowing me to move files.  From my laptop an Acer Aspire 7520 w. 
amd x2_64 updated to 10 April 2010.

I have found anything on launchpad searching Blackberry.  Any leads 
appreciated.
