You may notice that /those/ guidelines are for the IRC channels and not
specifically for this mailing list.  I think a pointer to the CoC is
more in line with what is expected here.

So I'd guess that they /are/ optional.

And, my, how your /own/ tune has changed since being the subject of
moderation.  For the better, I do believe.
